VaultMate Update: Real-Time File Monitoring is Here!

If you use VaultMate to manage your tasks, you know that keeping your Android device in sync with your desktop edits is crucial. But until now, you had to manually refresh your vault to see the latest changes.
I’ve been working on a highly requested feature to make your workflow truly seamless, and it’s finally here: Real-time File Monitoring.

🚀 What’s New: Background Syncing for Your Tasks

VaultMate now monitors your Obsidian vault for file changes in the background. If you edit a Markdown file—whether in Obsidian on your desktop or any other editor—VaultMate instantly detects the change.
If you have tasks with scheduled times, VaultMate will now automatically trigger a notification for you, ensuring you never miss a deadline.

🔥 Why This Feature is a Game-Changer

Here is how this update improves your productivity:

1. Set it and forget it

No more manual refreshes. Edit your notes on your desktop, and your Android device stays perfectly in sync automatically.

2. Local-first and private

Everything happens directly on your device. There are no cloud servers involved, and no privacy concerns.

3. Battery-conscious design

This feature is disabled by default to save battery and system resources. You can easily toggle it on in the VaultMate settings whenever you're ready to use it.

💡 What’s Next? Your Feedback Wanted!

This is a major step forward for VaultMate, but I’m always looking for ways to make it better.
If you have suggestions on how to improve the monitoring experience or other features you’d like to see, I’d love to hear from you.

🌟 Why I Built This Feature

I created VaultMate to make task management in Obsidian feel native and frictionless. The goal is simple: make your Obsidian vault work for you, wherever you are.
Real-time monitoring is another step toward that mission—giving you more reliability, more speed, and more control over your task ecosystem.

If you’re already using VaultMate, update to the latest version and enable "Real-time File Monitoring" in your settings.
If you’re new to VaultMate, this is the perfect time to get started.
